About the Company
Australian owned and managed, BioProspect is one of Australia’s emerging natural compound and product development companies that is conducting research and early-stage commercialisation in the pesticide and agricultural sectors.Established in 1998 and listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in January 2001, the company’s original platform involved the collection of Australian biota (plants and soil) and subsequent HTS screening to assess potential compound discovery. A library of plant extracts was established and from that 20 pure novel compounds have been discovered.
In April 2006 under the direction of its new Managing Director the company changed its direction from a discovery company into an actual full-scale product Development Company with definitive strategies for commercialisation for its lead compound TERMILONE®.
In August 2007, BioProspect announced a partnership with Solagran Ltd, an Australian Biotech company and from that, BioProspect gained an international licence to develop a new range of compounds called Bioeffectives® in the animal nutrition, health and agricultural markets.
BioProspect aims to be a key international supplier of proven naturally derived compounds and IP for the pesticide and agricultural industries.
BioProspect exists through a desire and capability to satisfy a growing market place that demands safer products that have been proven and registered under internationally recognised practices in order to have an immediate fit in existing distribution channels around the world.
