About the Company
BioProspect Limited (ASX:BPO) is an Australian company engaged in developing and commercialising products and technology in the human health and personal care, animal health and nutrition and agricultural sectors. BioProspect also holds an investment in Frontier Gasfields, an Australian oil and gas explorer focused mainly on the Philippines.
BioProspect's vision is to be a leading natural product provider in both Australian and international markets, utilising a blend of traditional knowledge and modern research, and applying scientific principles in the evaluation and registration of quality assured, high-performance products.
Established in 1998, BioProspect listed on the Australian Securities Exchange in January 2001 under the stock ticker of BPO.
The Company's initial focus was on the collection and research of Australian flora, and subsequent screening for potential beneficial compound discovery. A library of plant extracts was established, from which around 20 novel compounds have been characterised and evaluated.
BioProspect is now focused on the commercialisation of a range of environmentally friendly and natural products, targeting Australian and international markets.
